Senior Paramedic, Huron Valley Ambulance
Zach has been part of the Huron Valley Ambulance team for 10 years, joining in 2014 and being promoted to Senior Paramedic in 2016. Zach was drawn to public service, knowing from a young age he had a desire to help others. In high school, Zach participated in a First Responder Education for Employment program, which led him to an interest in firefighting. In 2007, Zach graduated from the Fire Academy and earned an associate degree in Fire Science from Kalamazoo Community College. In 2010, newly married and a new father, he found out that his own father was dying. This difficult situation formed Zach’s interest in EMS and healthcare in general. Zach graduated from Kellogg Community College with an associate degree in EMS and earned his Paramedic License. After spending time working in the U.P. as a paramedic, Zach joined HVA.
Zach is an outstanding paramedic with a positive reputation with colleagues and patients alike. His compassion and patient-centric focus are essential as an EMS practitioner. Many past patients have shared their appreciation for Zach’s clinical skills and calming presence during their time of need.
In addition to his work as a Senior Paramedic, Zach has served as a Tactical Paramedic on HVA’s TEMS team and as a Critical Care Paramedic on HVA’s MICU Team. Zach has established himself as a strong, compassionate leader and serves as a role model for his peers.
Zach, you are a valued member of HVA. Your professionalism and dedication set a strong example for others. Thank you for being part of the HVA team, and congratulations on being named Star of Life.
